The ancient "theme Park of Bomarzo, filled with "monsters", was planned as a sort of “ Wonderpark” by the architect Pirro Ligorio (who also completed the Cathedral of San Pietro after the death of Michelangelo and realized the Villa d'Este of Tivoli) by order of the Prince Pier Francesco Orsini in 1552, and was intended to be a work one and only all over the world.
It is a wonderful succession of gardens where a variety of statues and edifices are situated, according to imaginary "stages" between mythology and fantasy.
