Frallarenza: Weaving Course

The starting point was the traditional knitting technique and the materials that are quite familiar to Serena (she has used this technique since a long time to make up the lamp-shades of her table-lamps of pottery). The fascination of hand loom woven cloth, as well as the possibility to create articles by employing valuable yarns like silk, hand-dyed so to obtain different gradations in colours, gave her the input to learn how to work by hand-loom. The duration of courses and individual lessons is indicative and can be personalized at your request and according to your features, i.e. age, number and ability of the pupils. The price is € 15.00/hour per participant (materials used and your creations included).

Indicative Program of the Courses:
Approach to hand-loom weaving

(10 hours – max 3 participants)

Manufacturing of one article by using our materials (cotton, linen, mohair, Angora and wool) by hand-loom.
Working phases:
- choice of materials, preparation of the warp on the warping mill:
1 hour with the teacher + 1 hour alone
- setting up of the warp on the hand-loom:
1 hour with the teacher + 1 hour alone
- making weft (woof) and final touches:
2 hour with the teacher + 4 hour alone

Teaching hours may be divided into two or three days.
